Muscle, strength, and healthy aging
Why protecting lean mass after 40 is a longevity strategy: progressive resistance training, protein, recovery — and how NMN/spermidine education stays secondary to mechanical stimulus.
How to read this page. Systems pages connect lifestyle physiology to optional MASI molecules. Foundations first; capsules second.
Why muscle is a longevity organ
Skeletal muscle drives mobility, glucose disposal, and resilience to illness. Age-related loss (sarcopenia trajectory) is modifiable with training and protein in most adults cleared for exercise.
Training minimums
Most adults benefit from 2+ weekly progressive resistance sessions plus regular walking/cardio as appropriate. Exact programming is individual. Exercise lifespan context: exercise and lifespan.
Protein
Distribute protein across the day; pair with training. Supplements do not replace food protein targets.
Optional MASI layer
NMN for NAD+ pathway education; spermidine for autophagy-oriented programs; metabolic-care adjacency if on clinician-directed GLP-1 therapy: muscle during metabolic care.
